يتابع خبراء منظمة مجلس أوروبا وهيئاتها ودولها الأعضاء جهودهم بغرض تطوير الاتفاقية الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان وآليتها²2، والمتمثلة بالدرجة الأولى بتوسيع اختصاصات المحكمة الأوروبية لحقوق الإنسان وتعزيز اجتهاداتها³3، وتم لتحقيق ذلك اعتماد عدة بروتوكولات أضيفت إلى هذه الاتفاقية الأوروبية⁴4.

نجح المجتمع الدولي، في العقد الأخير من القرن الفائت، بتأسيس المحكمة الجنائية الدولية، واختيرت مدينة لاهاي الهولندية مقرا لهذه المحكمة. ودخل نظامها حيز النفاذ في 1/7/2002. وتم أول انتخاب لقضاتها وعددهم 18 قاضيا، في 12/2/2003. أما المدعي العام الحالي للمحكمة فهو السيدة (فاتو بنسودا) من (غامبيا) التي باشرت مهامها في 15/6/2012.

نجحت هيئات منظمة الأمم المتحدة لوحدها حينا، وبالتعاون مع بعض دول المجتمع الدولي أحيانا أخرى بتأسيس محاكم جنائية مؤقتة تتمتع بمختلف الاختصاصات، وهذه المحاكم هي:

The Council of the League of Arab States, Ministers of Foreign Affairs, adopted during his (142) session, and by his resolution n° 7790, E.A (142) C 3, 07/09/2014, the Statute of the Arab Court of Human Rights.

The Arab Centre for International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Education translated this Statute. It is non-official translation.
